Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Federal course the same as the Ontario regulated course?

The courses are similar in scope; however, the Federal Forklift Training specifically addresses the legislative requirements of the Canada Labour Code Part II and the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. The Ontario Forklift Training is based on the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Ontario) and applicable provincial regulations. Employers must ensure the correct course is selected based on their regulatory obligations.

Can I use my Ontario Forklift Certification to work in a federally regulated workplace?

No. If you are working under federal jurisdiction, you must meet the requirements outlined in the Canada Labour Code Part II and the Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, which differ from Ontario’s provincial standard.
