Program Details
Our Federal Lockout, Tagout (LOTO) Training course is designed for workers responsible for the control of hazardous energy sources under federal jurisdiction in Canada. This program ensures compliance with the Canada Labour Code Part II, Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations Part VIII and Section 13.16, and the CSA Standard Z460 for control of energy sources.
Participants will gain critical knowledge and practical skills to identify energy hazards, safely isolate energy sources, and implement effective lockout/tagout procedures.
This comprehensive training covers:
- Required Competency Elements from the CSA Z460 Standard for the Control of Hazardous Energy
- Provisions of the Canada Labour Code Part II and Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations Part VIII and Section 13.16
- Hazard Identification, Risk Assessments, and Contributing Factors
- Types of Energy Sources (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, thermal, etc.)
- Energy Isolating Devices and Their Applications
- Control of Hazardous Energy Sources
- General Lockout/Tagout Procedures
- Developing and Following Machine-Specific Lockout Procedures
