Course Details
This comprehensive Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to handle, offer, transport and receive dangerous goods safely.
The course covers key topics including classification, documentation, safety marks, means of containment and emergency response requirements. Participants will learn best practices for ensuring the safe handling, transport, and receipt of dangerous goods, focusing on minimizing risks and understanding proper containment methods to protect public safety.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the program, participants will be able to:
- Explain the relevant legislation and regulations governing the transportation of dangerous goods, including the TDG Act and Regulations.
- Discuss responsibilities of the shipper, carrier and receiver.
- Interpret and apply these regulations (special cases and exemptions) to the workplace to ensure compliance and minimize the risk of incidents.
- Identify the requirements for proper classification of dangerous goods in hazard class categories.
- Utilize Schedules 1 through 3 of the TDG Regulation.
- Identify requirements for packaging, labeling, and placarding.
- Describe and complete the items required on shipping documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Identify when emergency response assistance plans are required.
- Identify reporting requirements.

Certificate Issued:
Upon completion, students will be issued a certificate for course completion.
The employer will also be issued a TDG wallet card for each participant. Wallet cards require employer to sign off prior to issuance as per the TDG Regulation.

WWOCS Certified Program
WWOCS stands for the Water and Wastewater Operator Certification System (WWOCS). The WWOCS is an online system administered by the Ontario Water Wastewater Certification Office (OWWCO). SafetyCo offers WWOCS-approved training.
