Course Details
This is a discussion based training course that will see your trainer talking to participants about the hazards associated with the operation of overhead cranes.
Our Goals are to ensure that crane operators:
- Understand their legal responsibilities for operating cranes and hoists.
- Understand their legal responsibilities for slinging/rigging loads safely.
- Understand the best practices and procedures from experienced, competent persons.
- Gain practical knowledge to help avoid potential safety problems.
- Gain knowledge of legal liabilities for contravening regulations.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS AS REQUIRED BY THE “OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT AND REGULATIONS”
Occupational Health and Safety Act – Sections 25(2)(a),(c),(d),(h)

Course Duration:
8 Hours
Materials Provided:
Course materials and participant workbooks.
Certificate Issued:
Upon completion, students will be issued a certificate and wallet card showing proof of their training.
No Charge Cancellation:
If you cannot attend, contact us at least 5 business days prior to receive a full refund.
Practical Skills Evaluation
Certification of competency requires successful completion of both a written examination and a practical evaluation. Participants must achieve a minimum score of 75% on the written examination and complete the practical evaluation within 90 days to be eligible for certification.
Your practical evaluation is designed to confirm that participants can safely apply the skills learned during training. The following applies to practical evaluations:
- One practical evaluation per participant is included with the training.
- Practical evaluations are typically completed during the scheduled training session.
- If a practical evaluation can’t be completed during the scheduled session, a return visit can be arranged for $70 + HST per participant, plus applicable travel charges.
- Practical evaluations may also be completed by your employer or another qualified evaluator.
Before your practical evaluation, please ensure:
- Participants have received sufficient hands-on experience with the equipment.
- Equipment is safe, operational, and available for the evaluation.
Please Note
- Practical evaluations are completed at your workplace or job site using your equipment. We do not offer public practical evaluations at our training facilities.
- We do not supply or rent equipment for practical evaluations.
