Overview

Make a Real Impact Every Day

Are you passionate about keeping people safe and helping them go home healthy at the end of the day? Do you love teaching others, solving problems, and guiding organizations toward stronger safety practices? If so, we want you on our team.

At SafetyCo we’re not just delivering training – we’re helping organizations build safer workplaces through expert instruction and hands-on consulting. SafetyCo is Canada’s leading integrated safety solutions provider offering site safety officer placement, training, consulting, and technical rescue services. We create safer environments for people to thrive.

As a Health and Safety Trainer & Consultant, you’ll inspire workers in the classroom, advise leaders in the field, and see the real-world impact of your work every single day.

Why Join Our Team?

  • Purpose-driven work – Everything you do – whether training or consulting – helps prevent injuries and saves lives.
  • Variety & challenge  – No two days are alike. You’ll teach safety programs, conduct site visits, review procedures, and help clients strengthen their safety culture.
  • Growth & recognition – You’ll expand your expertise across training delivery, audits, program development, and client engagement.
  • Supportive culture – We treat our trainers and consultants as professionals and partners, giving you the resources and respect to thrive.

What You’ll Do

Training

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on safety training sessions across multiple programs.
  • Adapt content to fit client needs, ensuring every session is practical and memorable.
  • Maintain a strong grasp of Ontario’s OH&S legislation and standards to keep training accurate and relevant.

Consulting

  • Conduct gap audits, hazard reviews, and policy/procedure development.
  • Advise clients on compliance with Ontario legislation and industry best practices.
  • Support clients in strengthening their safety management systems.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to identify risks, close gaps, and improve safety performance.

Other Responsibilities

  • Ensure all training and consulting deliverables are completed on time.
  • Promote additional training and consulting opportunities to support client needs.
  • Mentor junior trainers and support colleagues in the field.
  • Travel to client sites and occasionally assist with in-office training or consulting projects.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of adult training experience (you’ve delivered, not just attended, safety programs).
  • Solid knowledge of Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills – both in the classroom and in client meetings.
  • Consulting experience (formal or informal) in areas like audits, program development, or hazard assessments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a smartphone with data.

Bonus points if you have certifications in programs like Working at Heights, MEWP, Forklift, or Confined Space – or a background in occupational health and safety management.

What Success Looks Like

  • Workers leave your sessions motivated, informed, and confident in applying what they’ve learned.
  • Clients see you as a trusted advisor, not just a trainer.
  • You consistently deliver high-quality results that earn top satisfaction scores and repeat business.
