Overview

The Training Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing SafetyCo’s training function, ensuring high-quality program delivery across our suite of health and safety programs. This role manages a team of trainers, drives operational excellence, and collaborates closely with sales and scheduling teams to achieve strategic and business goals.

The Training Manager will also deliver training directly on occasion, while maintaining a strong focus on program quality, trainer utilization, and client satisfaction. This role is central to SafetyCo’s vision of being the leading one-stop solution for training, consulting, staffing, site safety officers, technical rescue, and claims management.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of trainers to ensure consistent high-quality delivery
  • Provide coaching and support to trainers and facilitators to enhance their skills and effectiveness
  • Oversee scheduling and trainer utilization in collaboration with the Scheduling Coordinator
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development

Training Function Oversight

  • Ensure consistent quality and compliance across all programs
  • Support instructional design and adult learning best practices in program development and delivery
  • Deliver training directly as needed (1–2 sessions per week).
  • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, making improvements where required
    Stay updated on industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies in training and development

Collaboration & Business Alignment

  • Partner with the Sales Team to align training delivery with client needs and opportunities
  • Act as a key liaison between operations, sales, and consulting teams to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Provide insights to leadership on industry training trends, client feedback, and opportunities for innovation

Performance & Metrics

  • Track and report on KPIs including:
    • Billable hours
    • Client satisfaction
    • Quality scores
    • Trainer utilization
  • Ensure alignment with SafetyCo’s growth and business objectives

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in training management, program delivery, or a related leadership role
  • Strong background in adult education and learning design
  • Highly organized, process-driven, and results-oriented
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and lead teams
  • Working knowledge of Provincial and Federal legislation and standards
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across business units in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Certifications such as CRSP, CHSC, or CTDP are considered assets.
  • Flexibility to travel within Ontario to all SafetyCo facilities.
