About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Site Safety Officer to lead safety efforts on a project in Port Hope. This role requires a seasoned professional who can take ownership of site safety, provide leadership, and act as a trusted advisor to both clients and project teams.
You will play a critical role in driving safety strategy, mentoring others, and ensuring regulatory compliance at a high level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development and execution of site-specific safety programs
- Oversee inspections, audits, and compliance activities
- Provide expert guidance to project leadership and stakeholders
- Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Act as primary liaison with regulatory agencies (e.g., Ministry of Labour)
- Mentor and support junior safety personnel (if applicable)
- Participate in high-level planning meetings and risk assessments
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of construction safety experience or Nuclear
- NCSO designation strongly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of OHSA and applicable regulations
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management experience
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence and drive safety culture on complex projects
