About the Role
SafetyCo is seeking a Site Safety Officer to support a 2-month construction project in London, Ontario. This field-based role is ideal for a safety professional who is confident working independently on active job sites while collaborating with project teams to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
You will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, identifying hazards, and promoting a strong safety culture on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine site inspections, identify hazards, and provide clear, actionable reports
- Support the implementation and monitoring of health and safety programs
- Deliver site orientations and verify worker training compliance
- Collaborate with supervisors and contractors to mitigate risks
- Participate in project and safety meetings, providing recommendations
- Assist with incident investigations and documentation
- Liaise with regulatory authorities as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience
- Strong knowledge of Ontario OHSA and Construction Regulations (O. Reg. 213/91)
- Experience with inspections, hazard identification, and reporting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
