4 Years of Proving Everyone Wrong…
May 6, 2022. We put people on notice.
Safety was going to change. The industry was going to be put on notice. A passionate group of founders was tired of the status quo. It was time to collaborate. To coordinate. To become a collective of safety companies. To compete in a very different way and create a very different game to play in.
May 6, 2022 — SafetyCo came to life with the purchase of SDS.
We never looked back.
The industry will never be the same.
We disrupted what was considered normal. And it was hard. Harder than we expected. At times, probably harder than many of you expected as well.
As Sheena has experienced, there has been a lot of change. A lot of new.
“Over the last four years at SafetyCo, I’ve had the opportunity to grow from Sales & Marketing into Operations, which has made my experience incredibly rewarding. Moving into Operations has been an amazing experience, and I continue to choose SafetyCo because of the “opportunities for growth, support, and the chance to grow alongside such a great team.”
With that growth has come incredible highs and some challenging moments. But momentum, change, and the opportunity to build something different have been part of every day.
We have also had the incredible opportunity… one we didn’t always expect… to attract amazing people to join the company.
When we started, we weren’t sure anyone would want to join.
As Jess has said, she joined us through an acquisition and still had to make a choice. She had to decide whether to jump in and believe. She chose to work for SafetyCo because of the people, the culture, and the opportunity.
“I chose to work for SafetyCo because of the people, the culture, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact for our clients and communities. One year later, I continue to choose SafetyCo every day because we genuinely care about supporting one another, pushing each other to grow, and delivering work we can be proud of.”
Every day has been a lesson in growth from the team in the North. More importantly, we’ve grown together.
We have also come to appreciate the legacy, passion, and commitment to keeping people safe that exists across every company that has joined SafetyCo.
Every day, we balance two responsibilities: respecting the legacy that got us here and building the future we believe is possible. That tension isn’t always easy, but it pushes us to be better.
As Jane has said:
“After more than 17 years with the company, I still genuinely enjoy being part of a team that values safety, continuous improvement, and strong client relationships. The opportunity to make a real impact while growing alongside the business has kept my work both meaningful and rewarding.”
The challenge of holding onto the best of the past while building something new is a tension we embrace every day.
The opportunity to work alongside industry pioneers who can see the future and help shape it has been one of the greatest opportunities of this journey.
Thanks for making it this far, click here and we’ll send you a coffee on us.
Ron says it best:
“We chose this opportunity as a pathway to grow ACUTE while leveraging the benefits of being part of a much larger organization. This has enabled us to work alongside of some of our previous competitors as we are now working with and sharing resources to provide much fuller and strategic safety solutions to a much deeper client base and lead the future of the industry.”
None of this is possible without all of you.
You believed in a vision. Or maybe you simply believed in what could be. A different future.
For every one of you, every day, we say thank you.
We also recognize that not every day has been easy. Not every day has been perfect.
We have made mistakes. We have learned a lot.
And openly, we have had to make some difficult decisions about people and the future of the business.
I wish I could tell you we got every decision right. We didn’t.
We are always sorry for the impact our mistakes or difficult decisions may have had on people. We are human. We always will be.
At the same time, we are unapologetic about learning. About growing. About trying to build something extraordinary. About being willing to do what most people won’t.
In the pursuit of creating the best company possible for all of us, we also need to celebrate the lessons, the crooked paths, and the misfires.
They help us grow.
They make us better.
4 years. We have made mistakes.
4 years. They said we would fail.
4 years. We have changed the industry more than anyone in 20 years.
4 years. You have been part of something that has never been done before.
4 years. The industry made a mistake. They let us gain confidence. They let us become a winning team.
4 years. We are humble. Grateful. And more confident than ever.
4 years. Thank you. And openly… let’s go. We are just getting started.
4 years have been safe. The next 4 will NOT be boring.
